Willamette Valley Community Roots
Mission Statement
Willamette Valley Community Roots works to make fresh, locally grown food more accessible to families throughout Lane County. Through community gardens, food distribution programs and partnerships with local farms, we connect neighbors with healthy food while strengthening our local food system.
About Us
We believe everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food, regardless of income. What started as a small neighborhood garden has grown into a community-wide effort connecting local growers, volunteers and families.

Each year, Community Roots distributes thousands of pounds of locally grown produce, maintains six community garden sites and provides free gardening workshops for people interested in growing their own food.

Volunteer Opportunities
Community Garden Crew

Get your hands dirty and help our gardens grow! Volunteers help with planting, weeding, watering and harvesting fresh produce at our community garden sites. No gardening experience is needed, and all ages and skill levels are welcome.
Harvest & Food Distribution

Help fresh food get from our gardens to local families. Volunteers harvest seasonal produce, sort and pack food, and prepare boxes for our weekly community distribution. It’s a hands-on way to make an immediate impact.
Farm & Garden Events

Pitch in at one of our community work parties or seasonal events. Volunteers help with everything from harvesting and garden projects to welcoming neighbors and supporting family-friendly activities. Come for a few hours and be part of a fun day outdoors.
